Music is everywhere, and so is the music festival, with a host of events popping up of all shapes, and sizes, in some great locations! Today, I bring you news of some events happening in farms and country estates across the region.
On July 11 and 12th, you have the choice of not one, but two festivals, both with pretty impressive line-ups for all you festival goers to enjoy! First up in Chelmsford, Essex, is the Brownstock Festival, located at, you’ve guessed it, Brown Farm! Over two days, ticket holders can enjoy an eclectic mix of acts from Finlay Quaye and Kids Love Lies, to The Holloways and The Thirst. Across in Oxfordshire, Charlbury is gearing up for the annual invasion of visitors to the Cornbury Music Festival. Set against the backdrop of a 17th Century House, this festival is also aiming to provide visitors with the perfect festival weekend. How will it do this? With a first class set of facilities which include decent toilets, cash machines, and a range of good quality food outlets. Once festival goers are fed and watered, they can enjoy entertainment and music for all ages. Children’s workshops, beauty treatments, arts and crafts, and street performers will be scattered all over the site, which of course also features music stages. Fleetwood Mac founder Peter Green and The Lightening Seeds, will join a line-up bursting at the scenes with talent. To find out who else is appearing head on over to www.cornburyfestival.com. Also look out for the Walls Ice Cream promotion on the website, where 200 young festival goers can get free tickets for the event. These tickets are available on a first come, first served basis, but you might still be lucky.
Finally, we introduce a brand new festival that’s being held at Jimmy’s Farm, that you may well have seen on T.V. Farm owner Jimmy Doherty will hoist ‘Harvest At Jimmy’s’ at his Suffolk farm on September 12th and 13th. This festival aims to celebrate the best of British food, with the help of a few celebrity chefs. Throughout the event there will be master classes and demonstrations from James Martin, Gino D’Acampo, and James Wong, with Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Restaurant also playing their part. A festival wouldn’t be a festival without music though, and while visitors are munching away on some tasty treats they can also enjoy some great live performances. Athlete, Badly Drawn Boy, Seth Lakeman, and international artist José González all feature in the line-up for the first Harvest At Jimmy’s. With so many award winners taking part in this event, from both the food and music worlds, it’s sure to be a double barrelled assault on your families senses this harvest time.
