Time To Head For The ‘Exit’ (Festival That Is!)

by Lauren John. Published Today.

Festival season may be a good few months off yet, but that doesn’t stop organisers tempting the music buying public with early ticket details and line-up announcements, unusually though, the first festival off the blocks this year is held in Serbia.

Taking place from the 8-11th July in the stunning surroundings of the Petrovaradin Fortress, it’s set to attract visitors from all over the world, and prove once again, why it’s a worthy nominee for Best Overseas Festival in the UK Festival Awards. What began as a rebellious act against the regime of Slobodan Milosevic, has now grown into one of the best festivals in Europe, and features acts from across the world. The line-up currently includes Toronto based act Crystal Castles, and UK based electro/pop/new wave act Does It Offend You, Yeah? As further details are announced for 2010, expect to see acts listed across the board, as each Exit Festival traditionally features everything from rock, rap, and dance, to pop, chill, and classical music. All in all, there will be over 600 performances on 20 stages, and even the chance to dance along to the Serbian sunrise in the dance arena.

Tickets for the festival are on sale now, so if you fancy a unique musical experience this summer then listen up! From Jan-May tickets will be on-sale for £85, with camping priced at £20. From June onwards the four day festival ticket will cost £99, with a camping ticket rising to £25. All these tickets will have a booking fee added at the checkout.

Tickets can be purchased from E-Tickets, Last Minute, and the Exit Festival Website, which also includes details of travel, accommodation, the latest line-up news, and interviews/photo’s from past festivals.

A stunning location, a diverse line-up, and maybe some Balkan sunshine? Is this enough to have you heading for the Exit this summer?
