Sweethead: The Great Disruptors (Single/Video)

Back in August, Rich reviewed Sweetheads ‘Great Disruptors E.P.’, now he has passed the baton to me, and I am here to review ‘The Great Disruptors’ single/video.

This video has already amassed over 1,000 hits on You Tube, and it’s quite easy to see why. Predominately shot in black and white, it shows stylish performance shots of each member of the band, interspersed with shots of them out on the town. It’s smooth, edgy, and slightly dark, which is just the right feel/mood for the song.

The track itself is just what it sets out to be, a simple, yet quite powerful slice of dark, alternative rock. Serrina Sims’ vocal has depth and accuracy, whilst the guitar driven rhythm is heavy and laden with atmosphere. If you like Queens of the Stone Age, Garbage, and others, then you’ll like this. It’s not really my comfort zone as far as rock music goes, and I have heard similar before, but it’s still quite a catchy track, and one of the better examples of alternative rock out there. It would make a good track for a Halloween party as well!

‘The Great Disruptors’ is released on 28th September. For more information, check out www.myspace.com/sweetheadmusic
